Microsoft recently revealed information on a number of major upcoming Xbox releases, as well as confirmed release dates for games like Redfall and Minecraft Legends, and suddenly released Hi-Fi Rush. One of the major games that was expected to get a release date was Forza Motorsport, however there is still no word on exactly when it will be released.
When the racing sim was announced last year, it was slated for a spring 2023 release, while at the recent Developer_Direct trade show, Microsoft said the game would be out in 2023. This has understandably raised a lot of questions, not helped by recent reports that the game could be delayed until the second half of the year.
Xbox head Phil Spencer commented on the launch of Forza Motorsport, and while he didn’t want to give a release date, he assured that developer Turn 10 Studios is hard at work and that a release date will be announced closer to the game’s launch.
I know there have been questions about the release date of Forza Motorsport because we just announced the year. Everyone should know that the quality that Turn 10 brings to Motorsport, if you look at history, will be there in this game as well. This is what is most important first of all, and we will announce the date, no doubt, when we are a little closer. But we just wanted to confirm to people that this is the game of 2023.
Forza Motorsport is in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
