PUBG publisher Krafton said it “remains steadfast” in its plans to “provide and expand powerful gaming IPs.”
Sharing its strategic direction for 2023 with its employees, the company said it is committed to “drive sustainable growth and strengthen its publishing capabilities around the world” and remains committed to “web3 and deep learning.”
The post states that while PUBG “continues to be a top priority,” “the company’s efforts in 2023 to develop a deeper game catalog and stay ahead of rapid technology development will lead to new processes and internal efficiencies for substantial growth.”
We remain unwavering in our ultimate vision to provide and expand powerful gaming IPs. To achieve this, now is the time to focus our capabilities in 2023 and highlight the need to innovate and focus organizational capabilities, strengthen our publishing capabilities and systems, and continue to invest in the future.
said CEO C.C. Kim.
He added that the company intends to “restructure its internal publishing business and improve the processes that guide its work with and management of independent studios”, and also stated that “a priority is to find opportunities for publishing games from the second party that can strengthen the existing line of games and encourage greater investment in third-party developer capital.”
And that’s not all. Krafton intends to “continue to invest in emerging technology spaces” including web3 and deep learning, which the company says will “reshape the gaming experience in the coming years.”
Growth in these areas cannot be guaranteed without investment, and it is worth developing in these technology verticals as they are closely tied to game production technology, which is one of Krafton’s core competencies.
