Lara Croft could be starring in a TV adaptation in the future. According to the latest reports, a conversion to “Tomb Raider” is in the works.
The recent success of the HBO adaptation of The Last of Us, which is now also confirmed for a second season shows interest in video game stories in TV format. So it’s not surprising that The Hollywood Reporter already reported on the next implementation.
Lara Croft receives a series
Accordingly, the legendary action-adventure brand “Tomb Raider” will have its own series, which will be created by Phoebe Waller-Bridges (“Fleabag”, “No Time to Die”). According to unnamed sources, Waller-Bridges will write the script and not appear as the main actress. Rather, she will serve as executive producer, working alongside former Amazon Head of Comedy and Drama Ryan Andolina and former Head of Overall Deals Amanda Greenblatt.
Furthermore, it is reported that the series is actually created in cooperation with Amazon. This would make “Tomb Raider” a second project alongside “Sign Here” that Phoebe Waller-Bridges is creating with the shipping giant. A third series is also to be created, although no information is yet known in this regard.
