Capcom expects catalog title sales to continue and the release of Resident Evil 4 on March 24, a week before the end of the fiscal year, to push total game unit sales to over 40 million, which would mean a new record for the company within one fiscal year.
At the same time, the company estimates that the games will sell 36 million as digital downloads and 4 million as physical versions, which would be a 9 to 1 ratio. According to estimates, 30 million of these games come from catalog sales and 10 million from new releases such as “Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak” and “Resident Evil 4”.
Capcom sold 2.75 million units of Monster Hunter Rise, 1.5 million units of Resident Evil 2, 1.45 million units of Devil May Cry 5 games and 1.35 million units in the first nine months of the current fiscal year Sell millions of copies of Resident Evil 3. In addition, 750,000 copies each of “Monster Hunter World: Iceborne” and “Street Fighter 5” were sold.
Although Capcom has been able to achieve increasing sales figures in recent months, sales have fallen compared to the previous year, which is probably due in part to the fact that “Resident Evil Village” was released last year.
