An alleged commercial for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which reportedly aired on ESPN sports networks a few hours ago, points to an Australian release date of spring 2023, the equivalent of autumn elsewhere.
The video was shared on Twitter and you can watch it below. This is a very short clip of about 15 seconds, and unfortunately the quality is not the best. It shows a parody of the “PS5” newscast, which reports on the capture of criminals by two spiders. Despite the presence of the ESPN logo, it’s impossible to tell if the video is real or a fake, so take it with a pinch of salt for now.
If the reliability of these frames is confirmed, the news will be interesting for two reasons. The first is confirmation of release dates: Spring in Australia is equivalent to September, October and November here, according to what Insomniac Games announced earlier. Secondly, Sony would have already launched a marketing campaign for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and therefore would have been confident that it would release the game on time. In this case, a delay would be unlikely. Well, the third – the Australians are really strange.
