Attack on Titan is such an international phenomenon that it manages to extricate itself from insider circles to reach an audience not necessarily accustomed to printed and animated works from Japan. The interview with the author of Shingeki no Kyojin on France Inter was an opportunity to talk to “Mr. Everybody” about a saga that has become major, but the result was not necessarily to the liking of the fans.

A controversial interview
The interviews of the mangaka Hajime Isayama are not numerous. In France, that granted by the author of L’Attaque des Titans to France Inter is even a great first. Invited to the Angoulême Comic Strip Festival, the Japanese artist set foot in France for the first time and thus took part in a few exchanges, including one on one of the main radio stations broadcasting in our territory. Thursday, January 26, Léa Salamé therefore spoke for 10 minutes and at prime time with Hajime Isayama in order to look back on the success of his manga and present it to a large audience.
Those who already knew Attack on Titan learned very little and left disappointed. It must be understood that this interview presented by a political journalist was eagerly awaited, because exceptional, and the result was very disappointing for some fans. Indeed, Léa Salamé flies over the work and is content to ask questions whose answers are known to fans. However, this exchange was intended to introduce the manga and / or anime to the uninitiated, and not to those who have followed the adventures of Eren Jäger since its inception. Inevitably, the interview was commented massively on social networks, especially Twitter, with more or less vehemence. Some Internet users have praised the popularization work of Léa Salamé. Others have pointed to his ignorance of the subject.
Hajime Isayama’s itw wasn’t so bad, at times it sounded a little psychoanalytical, and we’re going to skip the reflection on “young” readers or the meaning of reading manga, but he responded well and I hope he made those who do not know him want to read his work pic.twitter.com/sCkV4dtRYh

Scouting Battalion fans probably already know. Shingeki no Kyojin continues the great earthwork in anime from March 03, 2023 on Crunchyroll. However, this third part of the final season will be broadcast in two parts. Part 1 therefore begins in early March while part 2 is currently credited with a 2023 wave. As a reminder, the broadcast of Japanese animated series generally follows the seasonal principle (January – winter / April – spring / July – summer / October – autumn). Attack on Titan, by its aura, ignores this calendar and does as it sees fit, even if it means launching the spring season a month in advance.
