While playing the Dead Space remake, the player noticed an interesting detail that subtly shows how cautious the protagonist Isaac Clarke is. While the biggest highlight of the remake’s Isaac is giving him a voice that adds an extra layer of depth, the detail seen clearly shows that the developer paid just as much attention to other small details.
When it comes to immersion, Dead Space does a great job of capturing them and stuffing in a lot of little details that aren’t meant to consciously grab the player’s attention. All of this makes it feel like they’re living the horror with engineer Isaac Clarke, who uses his wits to survive and find his girlfriend, Dr. Nicole Brennan.
One of these details is shown in the short video below. In it, the player looks at one of the many grotesque scenes of Dead Space, while Isaac himself looks away. After a few seconds, it turns out that he is looking at a dead Necromorph lying on the ground. The player aims and shoots, causing the monster to come to life and start attacking.
This is a subtle detail that many players may not notice. And shows that no matter how terrible the events taking place around him, Isaac is always on the alert and pays incredibly close attention to any details that may pose a potential threat. Although he is by no means a trained soldier, he is an intelligent man with incredibly strong survival instincts that play a crucial role in whatever comes his way.
