Sony Interactive Entertainment, Microsoft, and Nintendo will not be attending E3 2023, according to a report from IGN citing “multiple sources with knowledge of it.” Although Microsoft recently confirmed that it will “return to Los Angeles for our annual showcase this summer,” it did not specify if this would be part of E3 2023.
Speaking to IGN last week, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer said that the company’s presentation was scheduled at a time “convenient for the press and even consumers”, suggesting it would take place around the same time as E3 2023.
Sony Interactive Entertainment has not participated in E3 since E3 2018.
Neither the Entertainment Software Association – the organization that runs E3 – nor any of the three platform owners commented on IGN’s report.
E3 2023 will take place June 13-16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
