Actually, ARK: Survival of the Fittest should have hit consoles today, but the spin-off cannot be seen there at first. The reason for this is a serious bug that was discovered shortly before.

ARK: Survival of the Fittest: Due to bug: console release postponed at short notice

The release of ARK: Survival of the Fittest on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S will have to wait for the time being. Actually, this should have taken place today, but Studio Wildcard had to announce a postponement via Twitter at very short notice.

The reason for this is a “critical error that affects performance,” it says there. This critical bug was only discovered at the end of last week and mainly occurs on platforms from the last generation of consoles. They had hoped to fix this problem before the end of the weekend, but unfortunately were not able to do so in the end.

Ultimately, this “inevitably” led to the postponement of the launch of the spin-off on consoles. This should still be made up for as soon as possible, but the focus is on the best possible gaming experience. A new release date has not yet been announced. There is such a thing only when the problem can be gotten under control; if possible, it should be ready in the current week.

ARK: Survival of the Fittest is a spin-off of ARK: Survival Evolved, which was first released for PC in 2016. At least one PS4 variant was announced early on, but it was a long time coming. Reason: First the main game ARK: Survival Evolved should be brought to consoles.
