Extensive plans for Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed in 2023 were already communicated last year – and now there is a first free DLC for game owners to get hold of.
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, released in October 2022, is known to be supplied with fresh content throughout 2023 – and the creators are starting today with the first free DLC.
IllFonic has now made additional content available for free for its 4v1 action title with asymmetric multiplayer. Above all, this brings you a new card with “The Facility”. The facility that serves as the venue closed forever in the late 1980s – but a private investor group has now bought it and have plans to refurbish and reopen. Unfortunately, ghosts still roam there, which is why the construction crews refuse to enter the haunted health center. Time for the Ghostbusters!
Design Director Jordan Mathewson comments on the new map: “This location is clearly marked by time, giving players a unique feel compared to our previous locations. The builders are civilians and have begun the restoration of this facility, revealing why it was abandoned in the first place. Varied corridors combined with medium-sized rooms are built on top of each other to offer a unique, more intimate gameplay experience with a spookier aesthetic. There will be some interesting ways to use these new areas on this map to the benefit of every player, whether Ghostbuster or spirit.”
In addition to the map, there is also a new ghost type, fire station expansions and more. The most important other innovations in the DLC are stated by IllFonic itself as follows:
New ghost type – Glutton. This includes Muncher and two additional variants. Muncher is a fan favorite and the most wanted ghost. Haunted enthusiasts won’t be disappointed when they get their hands on this mischievous ghost dude in game. Firehouse Extensions. Players will get new character customization options, gear like the Gizmo Belt and Disruptor Pylon, gear accessory improvements, and more. gameplay. The team has been working hard to improve in-game matchmaking. All bots have also been improved, both those that follow you and those that help you chase ghosts away.
Comparable DLC packages will be available for download in each additional quarter of the year. This is then joined by quality-of-life patches.
