Since Fortnite is particularly popular with schoolchildren from a certain age, it is quite fitting that it is morning in Germany when publisher Epic Games carries out important maintenance work on the servers. Fortnite down – that’s why the game isn’t working at the moment
This morning, many players are likely to ask themselves annoyed: Why can’t I find any more opponents in Fortnite (buy now)? Why doesn’t the matchmaking work and why are the servers down in Fortnite? The answer is relatively simple. There will be a scheduled Fortnite server shutdown on Tuesday, January 31st.
Due to maintenance, no new matches will be assigned after 09:30. And from 10:00 a.m. all Fortnite servers are down. This affects all platforms, namely PC, Mac, Playstation 5, PS4, Xbox Series X & S, Xbox One, Switch and also Android. A so-called hotfix is installed for the 23.30 update, which is intended to fix problems in the game.
What’s new in Fortnite?
With the big update of Fortnite in version 23.30, not only errors in the game are corrected and the servers are maintained. One can also expect new content to be added to Fortnite. In addition to new Fortnite skins, emotes and cosmetic items, there should also be new quests. However, nothing has been officially confirmed yet.

When is Fortnite back online?
When will you be able to play Fortnite again? It is not known how long the Fortnite servers are down. Since this is a major update, it may take an hour or two before you can play again. These are usually released after the update.
