The Molasses Flood is working on a game based on The Witcher series. Current job advertisements could provide initial details on this project.
Fans of The Witcher can expect a few games based on this universe in the years to come, though not all of them will be developed by CD Projekt. Also included is Project Sirius, a game that Drake Hollow developer The Molasses Flood is working on. While official information is largely missing, job advertisements reveal where the journey could go.
The ads indicate that the game will have multiplayer elements, which is virtually confirmed by the tender for the position of Senior Multiplayer Designer. The job description mentions co-op and “engaging multiplayer gameplay features, game modes, player progression, and social systems.”
Procedurally generated level design?
The Technical Game Designer tender mentions experience with procedural generation systems in the “Nice to haves” section, suggesting that “Project Sirius” may feature procedurally generated level design similar to previous The Molasses Flood games.
The Narrative Director entry also mentions things like “branching” and “cinematic” stories and “spoken dialogue,” while the senior world builder job listing promises a “stylized” game.
CD Projekt itself spoke rather rudely about “Project Sirius” last year, stating that the title is in pre-production. It is therefore unlikely that there will be any news about the game in the foreseeable future.
There is also the possibility that certain features and mechanics that the developer originally wanted to incorporate will be discarded again in the course of development, so that the information in the job advertisements should be treated with caution.
