A whole series of Witcher games was confirmed last October – and at least one of them will probably enable joint monster hunting in a co-op mode!
Have you always wanted to go monster hunting with friends in the world of The Witcher? Apparently you will be able to do that in the future, because at least one of the several confirmed Witcher projects is said to have a co-op component. This now suggests a new job advertisement.
So CD Projekt RED is looking for new employees for The Witcher: Project Sirius, which is actually being developed by The Molasses Flood. Mind you, this isn’t the new main game from CD Projekt itself, codenamed Polaris. When it was announced in October 2022, it was already known that the spin-off Project Sirius would have a multiplayer component – in addition to a single-player experience. Now it’s more or less certain: It’s a co-op multiplayer and not a PvP component.
The job posting that appeared in a Reddit post by Awkward96 now states that Sirius will have “co-op, a class system, several different game modes and social activities”. Additional details will also be revealed as part of the search for a Senior Combat Designer, Narrative Director and Technical Game Designer. Accordingly, there should be non-linear storytelling and different enemy and weapon types as well as procedurally generated – i.e. randomly based – systems.
As a result, fans have already developed some theories about the game of The Molasses Flood, which could, for example, be a kind of The Division with monsters. Of course, this has not been officially confirmed.
The Molasses Flood previously created indie gems The Flame in the Flood and Drake Hollow, which focused on crafting, exploration, and survival. The latter also already had a co-op experience.
Seven years later – Pirmin plays The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
The next-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released this week. In fact, Pirmin has never hunted monsters with Geralt of Rivia. How much does he like the now seven-year-old action RPG with its new improvements?
