For AMD, last year turned out to be very productive. The revenue of the “red” chipmaker for this period amounted to $23.6 billion, which is 44% more than in 2021 and is a new record for the company. True, at the same time, net profit fell by 58% – from $3.16 billion to $1.32 billion.
If we consider AMD’s financial statements for the previous quarter, then his company completed with $ 5.6 billion in revenue (+ 16% compared to October-December 2021). At the same time, net income was only $21 million (-98%). AMD cites the amortization of intangible assets associated with the purchase of Xilinx as one of the main reasons for the drop in revenue, which was partially offset by a tax deduction of $154 million.
In the fourth quarter, AMD faced a drop in demand for processors and chipsets for personal computers. The respective division’s revenue fell to $903 million. The server division brought in $1.7 billion, the gaming division reported $1.6 billion in revenue, and the embedded division finished the quarter with $1.4 billion.
According to forecasts, AMD’s revenue in the current quarter was about $5.5 billion.
