According to rumors, the release of Skull and Bones can be expected in the second half of the year at the earliest. According to testers, there are still “game-breaking bugs” in the game.
Since Skull and Bones was postponed again to the 2023-2024 financial year, no new date has been announced, nor has the period for the publication been narrowed down. The possible time window thus extends over 12 months.
According to a new report from Insider Gaming insider Tom Henderson, the wait is getting longer rather than shorter. Due to the current state of development, if at all, a release should not be considered until the second half of 2023 at the earliest, as Henderson learned from two developers and other “second-hand reports”.
Skull and Bones playtesters also provided evidence for this assessment, so the game was plagued by “game-breaking bugs”, although the delay was justified with the necessary fine-tuning.
“Also, after a week-long playtest event, one playtester said the developer’s response to the lack of land combat was that they were ‘too deep into the game to do anything serious.'”
So far, officials have said that a new release date for Skull and Bones will be announced soon. A gameplay video was also released afterwards. A media preview event originally planned for February has been postponed. It therefore seems unclear when a new date can be expected.
