Creators Dwarf Fortress talked about the phenomenal financial success that the release in Steam, held on December 6, 2022.
So, last January, developers earned more than 7.2 million dollars, although in previous months their figures were on average at the level of 15 thousand dollars. At the same time, the authors will not take the new huge amount for themselves in full – a little less than half will go to taxes, salaries and payment of various business expenses.
However, with the help of this money, the authors were still able to solve important issues for themselves related to the health and development of the game itself. The developers thanked the fans who helped them achieve such results – and added that they will soon work on the arena patch, and then improve other details of the project.
Dwarf Fortress currently has a 95% approval rating on Steam with over 17,000 reviews. In the past, the authors managed to report on the outstanding sales of their creation.
