The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra takes the good foundations of its predecessor by refining what deserved to be. Better chip, more megapixels, slightly revised design and higher price.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra has just been officially unveiled by Samsung. It takes all or part of the design of the Galaxy S22 Ultra with a few minor differences. The circles around the sensors on the left are thicker and those on the right are flatter. The bezels are also flatter, causing the screen to be a little less curved, and that’s about it for the design.
It therefore retains its look very inspired by the Note range and its design which, it seems, was so popular that Samsung decided to decline it on the Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus. We are still on a beautiful baby with generous dimensions of 78.1 x 163.4 x 8.9 mm for 234 grams.

Photo Versatility
Two advantages arise from these generous dimensions: the 5000 mAh battery to see ahead and the 6.8-inch screen. The latter is the only one in the range to raise its definition to QDH+ and to spread its refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz. The brightness goes up to 1750 cd/m², like the rest of the range. We can credit this generous format with the stylus, which changes size in passing. A stylus from S22 Ultra will not be interchangeable with the S23 and vice versa.

Beyond these undeniable advantages, the star when talking about the Ultra model is of course the photo part. Of course, we find the versatility offered by the different photo modules with the presence of an ultra wide-angle, a main sensor and two X3 and X10 telephoto lenses. Three new features are appearing: a 200 Mpx sensor (f / 1.7) in the main, the arrival of the dual pixel on the autofocus of all the sensors and the selfie sensor which goes from 40 to 12 megapixels in order to help there also to a better autofocus.
A “by Galaxy” chip
On the video front, the S23 Ultra promises up to 30 FPS at 8K. Note also that the OIS has been improved compared to the Galaxy S22 Ultra, now with 3 degrees of stabilization against 1.5 previously. Clearly, this means that it will support even greater movements.

Last year, the Galaxy S22 Ultra had one huge flaw: its chip. As rumors and various joint statements from Qualcomm and Samsung foreshadowed, the Galaxy S23 Ultra does indeed run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. For the occasion, the chip has been slightly overclocked for Samsung’s needs and goes up to 3 .36GHz. The S23 Ultra incorporates
