According to the publication, in January, the US President instructed the head of the CIA, William Burns, to convey a proposal to the Russian and Ukrainian authorities, which involved the end of hostilities in exchange for the official transfer of 20% of the territory of Ukraine in favor of Russia. We are obviously talking about the territory that became part of Russia after February 24, 2022. The offer, of course, was rejected by both sides, as a result of which the United States decided to transfer M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine.
This information looks very strange for several reasons. First, the United States must understand that the completion of the special operation on such conditions does not fulfill either of the two main goals set for it (special operation). Secondly, it is unlikely that Ukraine would have dared to reject the proposal of those thanks to whom, in principle, it retains the opportunity, at least somehow, but to resist.
