The developers from the Armenian studio Mandragora, together with the tinyBuild publishing house, have decided on the release date in early access for their life simulator in the carefree apocalypse I Am Future.
The events of I Am Future take place in a flooded city, where the protagonist wakes up on the roof of one of the skyscrapers. He, as expected in games of this genre, will need to deal with the arrangement of the base, as well as unraveling the secrets of civilization and his sudden awakening.
“You wake up on the overgrown roof of a skyscraper, there is not a soul around. Cosmopolis, once a mighty city of glass and metal, is now in ruins and flooded. With the collapse of society in the confrontation of UNICORP with competing corporations exploring the ideas of transhumanism, an end has been put. Now you have to unravel the mystery of the last days of civilization and your sudden awakening here. But only you are free to decide what to do next – you can build your own future and enjoy the view of what remains of the former greatness of mankind, ”says the official description of the project on Steam.
Starting from scratch on an empty roof, our hero will explore the surroundings in the city, finding the necessary resources and devices for the arrangement. He will need to build a complex multifunctional base for work and life step by step.
And you will have to collect and examine almost everything in a row: old microwave ovens, rusty cars and ancient computers. The fun begins when the hero gets bored with loneliness and starts making unusual friends. To do this, he will need to upload artificial consciousness into the constructed buildings, listen to their thoughts and advice, and develop relationships with them. You can also get yourself drone pets, which will be useful for automating routine tasks.
In terms of interests and the list of available activities, the I Am Future simulator is doing well. On the roof, the hero can do the arrangement of the garden, fishing and cooking. There are also enemies here: from time to time, our survivor will have to put up defenses and fend off waves of mutated living creatures.
