Back 4 Blood was released in October 2021 and has been updated with fresh content since then. In the future, however, no further DLC packages are to be released – in favor of a new game project by the developer!
While the co-op zombie shooter Back 4 Blood will not be taken offline and will remain available for the time being, don’t expect new content in the future. The developers at Turtle Rock Studios have now officially confirmed this. The post-launch plans for the game have come to an end.
On the official website, the creators thanked the fans for their support and at the same time for their understanding. In this regard, it was assured that the online services of the co-op shooter will remain accessible for the foreseeable future.
Since the original release almost a year and a half ago, the makers had released three major DLC packages: “Tunnels of Terror”, “Children of the Worm” and “River of Blood”. No more such additional content should be added. The reason for this is that Turtle Rock Studios is a rather small developer and would now rather devote itself to new projects.
A new game, which should become “the next big thing”, is already in the works, but no details were given. Will it be a zombie title again?
Turtle Rock was formerly known as Valve South and was previously responsible for Left 4 Dead. Back 4 Blood is widely regarded as the spiritual successor to this zombie hit. It remains to be seen whether the developer will remain true to the genre again.
