Portuguese football club “Benfica” set a unique historical record.
Benfica is the first team in the history of world football to sell two players for more than 100 million euros.
We are talking about Joao Felix and Enzo Fernandez. Felix was sold to Atlético Madrid for 127 million, while Enzo Fernandez went to London Chelsea for 129 million.
Interestingly, both Felix and Enzo are now playing at Chelsea. Not so long ago, Atlético loaned the Portuguese to the Blues.
It is worth noting that Felix is a graduate of Benfica, so the club did not pay for the player, and Fernandez moved from River Plate to the Portuguese club for only 17 million. Thus, the profit of Benfica after the sale of these two players amounted to more than 200 million euros.
