A month ago, between Christmas and New Year’s Day, Xiaomi presented in China two new devices to attach to the wrist, the Redmi Watch 3 watch and the Redmi Band 2 bracelet. This Friday, the Chinese manufacturer finally announced the launch of its connected bracelet in France.
If the bracelet is called “Redmi Band 2” in China, it will be necessary to rely on the name Redmi Smart Band 2 in France. A way for Xiaomi to harmonize its different ranges of connected bracelets with the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 and Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Pro. Nevertheless, with the exception of this change in nomenclature, the bracelet has not undergone any substantial modification between its launch in China and its arrival in France.
Concretely, we are dealing here with a bracelet connected with a large rectangular TFT LCD screen of 1.47 inches diagonally displaying 172 x 320 pixels for a density of 247 pixels per inch. As is often the case with Xiaomi, the sensor can be integrated directly into the silicone strap, a way to easily change strap colors. At launch, two versions will be offered, in black or white.
Comprehensive health measures
On the side of activity and health measurements, the Redmi Smart Band 2 not only integrates a tracking of the number of steps taken during the day, but also a continuous heart rate sensor, a measurement of oxygen saturation in the blood and even a chip for GNSS tracking compatible with GPS, Glonass, Galileo and Beidou. Enough to allow you to precisely measure the distance traveled during your workouts, as well as the pace or speed at which you provide your efforts. This is a major difference with the Redmi Band 2 launched in China, which had to rely on the geolocation of the smartphone.

Xiaomi announces that it has integrated a 210 mAh battery in its Xiaomi Redmi Smart Band 2. Enough to allow, in theory, an autonomy of at least two weeks according to the manufacturer.
The Redmi Smart Band 2 is available from this Friday at a price of 29.99 euros on the manufacturer’s website. Subsequently, it will be available from February 14 at retailers at 10 euros more, for 39.99 euros.
