Midfielder “Dnepr-1” Eduard Sarapiy, the author of the winning goal in a sparring match against the Slovenian Mura (2:1), shared his own impressions of the match and the training camp in Turkey in general:
– Eduard, remember that episode with your goal?
– It was a clean goal. We ran into the points that we were supposed to, as we were told before the game. We constantly work out set pieces, so we did everything as it was necessary.
– Today you were played against by quite powerful forwards. How hard was it? It seemed that you won a lot of martial arts.
– Yes, it’s better to let the opponent work with the body than to be behind me. I’ll add that I’d rather play with such attackers than against nimble and fast ones.
– In general, how would you assess the level of the opponent and the state of our team, especially since you played 90 minutes today?
– A competitive line-up acted against us, in a good sense, fighters. We need such games, because there are many such teams in our championship. So for us it’s a great sparring session, but we’re getting in shape before the Conference League.
– In test matches, the combination of central defenders is constantly changing. Can we say that it is convenient to play with everyone?
– Yes, all wonderful and excellent players. We work out the connections that should be with any partner. Everyone should act as the coach insists, so everyone understands each other.
