The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi is looking to diversify its connected bracelets and is introducing a new affordable model: the Redmi Smart Band 2. This product is intended for people who want to try out an activity tracker without having to pay a large sum. And even with its low price, it has serious advantages and it even costs 10 euros less.

A successful bracelet at a low price
In addition to its Smart Band, Xiaomi offers a more accessible version of connected bracelet: the Redmi Smart Band. The second model released today is a well-finished, rather minimalist product. At the level. of the display, we discover a large rectangular TFT LCD screen with a diagonal of 1.47 inches, i.e. a display area 10.5% larger than that of the Smart Band 7. It offers a definition of 172 × 320 pixels for a density of 247 pixels per inch.
Once on the wrist, you will feel little discomfort, because it has the advantage of being very light (only 14.9 g without the bracelet) and compact with its slim 9 mm case. Made of polyurethane, the watch can theoretically be submerged up to 50 meters, thanks to its 5 ATM water resistance.
With interesting features
In terms of functionality, the Redmi Smart Band 2 is able to measure the number of steps taken during the day, but also includes a continuous heart rate sensor and a measurement of oxygen saturation in the blood. It is also able to monitor your sleep cycle. The band supports over 30 Sport modes (including outdoor running, yoga, and hiking) to help you stay in shape. Exercise time, calories burned and heart rate are visible at a glance.
However, it does not have a GPS chip. You will therefore not be able to accurately measure the distance traveled during your workouts, or the pace and speed at which you provide your efforts, unless you use the smartphone’s GPS tracking. Finally, this Smart Band 2 can accompany you on a daily basis thanks to its autonomy, capable of holding up to 14 days in economy mode according to the manufacturer. In the context of intensive use, it will take more than 6 days of use. Be aware that the autonomy is subject to vary once all the monitoring is activated.
