The DICE Awards 2023 will be held on February 23. The event is hosted by the US Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, which this year decided to induct developer and head of the Double Fine studio Tim Schafer into the Hall of Fame. Recall that Double Fine is part of the Xbox Game Studios.
In total, Tim Schafer has been working in the gaming industry for over 30 years. He led the development of many well-known hits, including legendary quests such as Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle and Grim Fandango, which are loved by many. In particular, Tim is the creator of the Psychonauts universe, as well as the highly acclaimed Psychonauts 2 game, which was released by Double Fine in 2021 (the game received Russian localization in May last year).
It’s worth saying that Tim Schafer is not the first Xbox team specialist to be inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame. Previously, it included Bonnie Ross (former head of 343 Industries) and Todd Howard (Bethesda), plus many other well-known personalities in the gaming industry.
