Digital Foundry has published a technical review of Hi-Fi Rush covering the Xbox Series X/S and PC versions, which talks about an excellent game and a possible contender for the title of GOTY 2023.
Tango Gameworks has definitely made an impression on both the public and the industry, despite its unexpected release without any marketing.
Digital Foundry talks about the impeccable image quality on the Xbox Series X, with 4K resolution perfect and very crisp. The Xbox Series S version also looks great, albeit at 1440p and with some detail reduction. For example, the quality of the shadows is lower, and the density of the foliage is less. Everything is within the normal range, however, also because the cutouts do not degrade the image quality too much, and in some cases are almost invisible.
On both consoles, Hi-Fi Rush runs at a solid 60fps without any noticeable framerate drops. Only in the Series S version, imperceptible drops occur from time to time, but they can only be detected with special equipment.
Digital Foundry concluded that Hi-Fi Rush is already among the contenders for GOTY 2023. In short, the game you weren’t expecting, launched at the right time.
