For one session, nothing will happen, then – as it will.
Blizzard is tightening the fight against cheaters in Overwatch 2. Previously, the company blocked only the accounts of the cheaters themselves, starting from the third season, the accounts of players playing with cheaters can be banned.
We are not talking about punishment for the only match in a team with a cheater. The developers plan to track the accounts of people who “voluntarily and regularly” play with cheaters and block only them.
Blizzard believes that such bans will no longer encourage some players to play joint matches with cheaters for the sake of pumping skill levels.
At the same time, bans for “accomplices” of cheaters will be softer. If a cheater is immediately banned forever, then “accomplices” will receive long-term bans, and permanent bans will be issued in extreme cases.
The company also said that since the launch of Overwatch 2, more than 50 thousand cheaters have been banned.
