Grinding Gear Games will take a “quality first” approach to Path of Exile in 2023. The game is going through a relatively stable time since The Forbidden Sanctum expansion has ticked all the right boxes for players. Taking player feedback into account, Grinding Gear Games aims to keep the same design philosophy in future expansions.
The developer will release at least two new expansions and hold the long-awaited ExileCon. The post says the new expansion will release in early April, meaning the Sanctum League will be extended for another month. The developers have confirmed that the extra month will help their 3.21 expansion development cycle and they will do something special to make this time exciting. After 3.21, the studio’s main focus will be exclusively on ExileCon.
ExileCon is Path of Exile’s annual event where Grinding Gear Games showcases upcoming projects. This event will feature Path of Exile Mobile, Expansion 3.22, and the long-awaited Path of Exile 2, along with its beta testing dates. While Path of Exile 2 and Path of Exile Mobile may still take a while, Expansion 3.22 will release shortly after ExileCon ends, most likely within two weeks.
