On the night of February 3-4, Glendale, Arizona, USA hosted a boxing evening from Top Rank and Bob Arum.
The show’s main event was for the vacant WBO super featherweight title.
Mexican Emmanuel Navarrete (36–1, 30 KOs) went into a 12-round fight against the Australian Liam Wilson (11–1, 7 KOs).

The fight nearly ended in a big upset! Navarrete, going forward, missed the opponent’s counterattack and was knocked down in the 4th round. Having managed to survive thanks to the gong, the Mexican recovered and seized the initiative.
In the 9th round, Emanuel took revenge on his opponent, forcing him to visit the platform of the ring. The advantage of the Mexican was not in doubt, and the referee soon stopped the fight ahead of schedule.

In the main battle Arnold Barbosa from USA (27–0, 10 KOs) won on points Jose Pedras from Costa Rica (29-4-1, 14 KOs). The fight went all the allotted 10 rounds. Barbosa expectedly looked more active, smashed the opponent’s face to the point of blood.
The American got the upper hand on the scorecards of all three judges: 97–93, 96–94, 96–94. Barbosa scored his 28th win in the pro ring (without defeat) and won the WBO Inter-Continental light welterweight belt.
