Previously, there were many rumors about the upcoming expansion for CoD:MW2. In particular, players expected the return of several popular modes from the last part. And if the “hardcore mode” has already been indirectly confirmed, then the studio kept silent about the infected.
At least until recently, as the developers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward, hinted at the return of the “Infection” mode to fans in response to the post of one of the users on Twitter – “We agree. See you on February 15” .
This seems to be a clear hint that the long-awaited mode will return with the next update, which is scheduled for release on February 15th. In addition to the already confirmed “Infected” mode, players are waiting for the “Hardcore mode”, as well as the addition of new maps, weapons and new operators.
Infection mode was first introduced in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 allowing 18 players to survive against an infected player armed with knives. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/Series.
