In the welcome screen you decide what you want to do. When monitoring files and folders, you can keep an eye on a specific directory. Select the folder and add a new job. You can display a message on the desktop or have an e-mail sent.
What is that useful for? If you use a synced folder with a cloud service but don’t want to keep an eye on it all the time, Space Profiler will do it for you. In this way, you will immediately know when someone else has added files to the folder and can react to them immediately.
Alternatively, you can also start your backup software automatically when there are changes to your files.
