30-year-old German biathlete Vanessa Hinz has announced her retirement from professional sports.
“Back in the fall, I decided that this would be my last season. Last week I realized that I will do my last race in Obertilliach because this is a very special place for me: here I spent my first training camp at the age of 10, as well as the first biathlon competitions … I am very glad that I was able to complete my career here.
Biathlon gave me everything: emotions, ups and downs. I am so glad that he gave me this life and wish all young athletes to experience the same,” Hinz said.
