Peter Pascal is doing the media tour to promote the serie TV The Last of Us di HBO and obviously could not miss its presence in a new sketch del Saturday Night Liveonly that in this case the scene takes an unexpected turn, as it becomes one cross parody with Mario Kart.
As we can see in the video below, Pedro Pascal has turned into something between Joel and Mario, complete with plumber’s dungarees, pronounced mustache and sawn-off shotgun, in a hilarious video that starts with the trappings of a trailer super epic and then it becomes insane.
In a post-apocalyptic situation, where “the kingdom has fallen”, Pascal is asked to bring a shipment of contraband across the “Rainbow Road“, and already here the situation begins to get bizarre.
The cargo, however, turns out to be a princess sought after by a certain evil gentleman with turtle shell, while the vehicle to be used is obviously a kart with the red M. Beyond the parody, made even more ironic by the pretentiously dramatic performances of the actors, the video also amazes for its production quality.
It’s really not every day that you see a realistic recreation of a Mario Kart race built to this level of quality and the footage is both hilarious and truly spectacular. Meanwhile, after the great success of the third episode of The Last of Us TV series we also published an interview that investigated the secrets behind the production of this one, as we prepare for the arrival of Episode 4 of the HBO series.
