The Dead Space remake was released without Russian localization, the Mechanics VoiceOver team intends to fix this. Boosty launched a fundraiser for the full localization of the game: subtitles and voice acting.
The role of Hammond is planned to invite Peter Glants; Mechanics VoiceOver hopes that the role of Kendra will be played by Ramil Iskander. Both actors voiced these characters in the Russian version of the original Dead Space.
The Mechanics VoiceOver team estimated the cost of a full Russian localization of the Dead Space remake at $5,145. Now we managed to raise $293.
Dialogues have grown noticeably in size, not only because of Isaac Clarke talking, but also because of the extended storyline of many minor characters.
Text logs have evolved to AUDIOlogs. And the characters, who previously just left the dying audiologist, now directly interact with our hero, just like Kendra and Hammond.
It is possible that the localization will be censored: it may touch upon Kendra’s phrase at the beginning of the remake, which some players consider inappropriate.
It is planned to release localization in two stages: subtitles will appear around April, voice acting – before the end of summer. In March Mechanics VoiceOver will try to release the first localization demo.
At the same time, the team is finishing fundraising for the voice acting of another horror film, The Callisto Protocol. The project managed to attract more than 278 thousand rubles with a goal of 350 thousand.
