Yesterday, insider Tom Henderson shared new information about the development of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. Screenshots of an alpha version of Bioware’s upcoming game have surfaced online today, along with additional details.
An unknown insider posted screenshots and project details on reddit. He was able to get a 20-minute gameplay video from the game’s tester, took some screenshots, and outlined the alpha build’s distinguishing features.
Combat is completely real-time and is similar to hack and slash. The reference point was God of War (2018), and it shows. The player has a normal combo attack and then his abilities, as well as a special bar that generates, allowing you to perform a special move. This is the standard Dragon Age ability wheel. The control of the party members was not demonstrated. You probably won’t be able to directly control your party members in the game. However, you will probably be able to tell them to use certain abilities. But apparently it was blocked in Alpha. The animation quality has improved a lot. No other BioWare game had this level of animation. No more hard animations, everything is very fluid and feels very responsive. Jumping has also been saved. So rejoice if you enjoyed jumping a lot in DAI. Because the character was a hero with a sword and shield, he could parry enemy attacks and counter-attack. It’s hard to tell their exact abilities, they only had two hotkeys along with a special one. But one seems to be basically a kick, while the other is a charged sword attack. The UI is similar to DAI, but it’s also an Alpha, and the UI is the last thing that gets finalized in any game. The character has a chest slot, a helmet slot, a primary weapon slot, and a shield (secondary weapon?) slot. For accessories: one amulet slot, one belt slot, and two ring slots. The player character’s hair looked great. The enemies were pretty much just darkspawn variations with the exception of the dragon, but then again they seemed to have the powers of red lyrium.
