On February 6, the demo version festival on Steam began, in which the Ukrainian game Corsairs Legacy participates. The developers have already updated the game page on Steam and opened access to the demo version.
Recall that Corsairs Legacy is a pirate action game in the style of the famous Corsairs, created by the Ukrainian studio Mauris based on the Unity game engine. In the center of the plot is the smuggler Jack Rackham, who, by the will of fate, becomes a pirate. The game was announced in April 2021 and initially planned to release the RPG mode with battles on land in 2021, followed by a phased development (it was planned to add naval battles in 2022, and an open world in 2023). At the end of 2021, Corsairs Legacy was pushed back to 2022. However, due to a full scale Russian invasion, the release of the game again had to be postponed. Now the release of the first Corsairs Legacy game, which should start a new series, is scheduled for 2023 (the exact date is still unknown).
However, interested players can already check out Corsairs Legacy thanks to the release of the demo version of the game. In the first Corsairs Legacy demo, players can try naval combat and boarding. The project team did not have time to make all the planned changes by the beginning of the festival, but already added most of the changes according to the comments under the latest trailer.

Previously, the developers published a separate page on Steam for the free version, which is called Corsairs Legacy: Prologue. But, according to the conditions of the festival, the demo must be released on the main page of the Corsairs Legacy game. Therefore, another version of Corsairs Legacy will be released on the Prolog page in the future.
The main goal of the Corsairs Legacy demo is the ability to get feedback from the audience about the current implementation of the game mechanics and take it into account in a future release. All players who send their feedback to the developers inside the demo via the feedback form will receive a digital bonus in the release version of the game for their active participation in development.
The developers also launched a stream on the game’s page on Steam, in which project manager Vladimir Bondarenko talks about future plans and big changes that have occurred with the team and the project after February 24, 2022.
Anyone who wants to help the project can leave the Corsairs Legacy game stream page on Steam as an open tab for as long as possible. A high level of online participation in the broadcast will help to get additional viewers and thereby increase the community of the Ukrainian project.
