Someone can’t always shut up. About 20 minutes of video scenes have been leaked for the upcoming Bioware role-playing game Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, which already reveal something about the gameplay.
Smaller and larger leaks are now the order of the day in the gaming world and now Dragon Age: Dreadwolf from Bioware has also been hit. Video scenes and screenshots allegedly made by a playtester with access to an early alpha version of the game appeared on Reddit over the weekend.
The scenes should cover around 20 minutes of the game and take place in the Gray Warden fortress Weisshaupt. You can see battle scenes of a Gray Warden with sword and shield along with two attendants. Among other things, it shows that these are real-time hack’n’slash-style battles, apparently with similarities to the combat system of God of War from 2018.
Apparently, there are active combat skills, as well as a special move that can be detonated after charging up a bar. Combos also seem to be an issue in combat. What’s striking is that, at least in these early scenes, there’s no way to control the companions – which, given how early it is, doesn’t mean it doesn’t come into play.
Said Reddit user especially praises the drastically improved animations compared to previous BioWare titles: “We have never seen such good animation quality in a BioWare game.”
The scenes also give you a look at the fairly classic inventory, which apparently allows you to equip various weapons, pieces of armor and jewelry such as rings and amulets. Apparently there is also a socket system for the armor pieces. Some images and a short video clip can still be found on Imgur, but it cannot be ruled out that Bioware is already on the hunt for the leaked material and that it will be taken down in the foreseeable future.
