When will Hogwarts Legacy be released for which platform?
There isn’t just one release date for Hogwarts Legacy (buy now). Because anyone who buys the Collector’s Edition can play it from February 7, 2023. Otherwise you can get started on PC, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on February 10, 2023. Hogwarts Legacy will be released on the last-gen consoles PS4 and Xbox One on April 4, 2023, while a version for the Nintendo Switch will not follow until July 25, 2023.
Is there a preload?
Xbox and Playstation players can download the necessary data in advance so that they don’t have to wait until the release day to download the 80 GB for Hogwarts Legacy. The Xbox Series X/S version is already available for preload. The same goes for the special editions for the Playstation 5, with the standard version being downloadable from February 8th, 2023. However, the PC has to do without a preload.

What versions of Hogwarts Legacy can I buy?
Hogwarts Legacy is available in three versions, all of which include the Onyx Hyppogriff mount via pre-order bonus:
Standard Edition for €60 (Steam) and €75 (PS5, XSX): It just contains the game. Deluxe Edition for €70 (Steam) and €85 (PS5, XSX): This gives you 72 hours of early access in addition to the game , the Thestral mount, the Dark Arts Battle Arena and a Dark Arts Collector’s Edition outfit for €299.99: This includes the deluxe content as well as a floating wand that “rests” on a book, a Steelcase packaging and the Kelpie cloak Outfits for the game.
What is Hogwarts Legacy about?
Hogwarts Legacy takes place long before Harry Potter’s adventures, namely at the end of the 19th century – about 100 years before the books. You take on the role of a student who has the mysterious ability to use ancient magic. In addition to the previously little-lit plot, you will also witness the goblin rebellion of the time. Accordingly, in addition to monsters and dark wizards, you also have to deal with Ranrok and his goblins, which he leads in 1890.

You can design your heroic character according to your own wishes – so you are not tied to a specific gender role and can even determine the voice yourself in addition to elements such as hairstyle, scars, eye and hair color and face.

Hogwarts Legacy gameplay: what do you do in the game?
Above all, the open-world RPG lets you explore the magical world around the Hogwarts school. Accordingly, you are not only allowed to graze the school grounds for puzzles, treasures and quests (also from the back of a mount), but also the Scottish Highlands and dungeons. The action RPG relies on fights in which you use many items in addition to well-known spells – such as mandrakes to stun your opponents.

Otherwise you can expect school lessons, many dialogues with characters, puzzles and the search for collectibles. On top of that, a housing system awaits you thanks to the Room of Requirement, which you can decorate and fill with useful gadgets. There you will also find a menagerie for fantastic beasts, the care of which brings you other useful items.

Hogwarts Legacy: Will there be microtransactions?
It’s almost sad that this question has to be asked before the release of a full-fledged blockbuster game, but some gamers felt compelled. But the developers give the all-clear: There will be no microtransactions in Hogwarts Legacy that will bring you more resources or save you time.

Although we can use brooms (and flying mounts) to explore the skies, the sport known from Harry Potter is missing.
Hogwarts Legacy: Is there a co-op mode?
The game is clearly designed as a solo open world RPG. That’s why you will only be able to explore Hogwarts alone – friends can explore their own Hogwarts or look over your shoulder.
Can you freely choose your house in Hogwarts Legacy?
The choice of Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw is not taken from you by the game. There will be the hat ceremony, but the choice is yours. In advance, however, you can let yourself be assigned by officially completing the ceremony with the help of a Wizarding World test. You can also have a magic wand assigned to you, which you then get in the game.
