Following the postponement of Amnesia: The Bunker, creative director Fredrik Ohlsson shared the details of the project in an interview with DualShockers. The first thing the developer noticed was the lack of a mind system and HUD in the new part. That is, now the character will not go crazy when in dark places, so, apparently, he will be able to move through corridors without light sources without any problems.
By the way, one of the main mechanics around which constant moral pressure on the player can be built is the need to periodically go to the center of the bunker in order to refuel the generator that provides electricity to all rooms. This action is necessary in order not to remain in complete darkness. Olsson noted that due to such mechanics, players will not be able to hide from monsters for a long time. Without light, the hero will not die, but this will complicate his further progress. Also interesting points include the randomization of the location of objects, weapons and resources. Therefore, each passage can drive you into new unforeseen situations.
Players will be able to use a revolver and a grenade. According to the developer, the weapon will not spoil the atmosphere of Amnesia: The Bunker and will not give the player a full sense of security. The cartridges in the revolver will not be enough all the time, so you will not be able to constantly shoot back from the monsters.
Recall that Amnesia: The Bunker will be released on May 16, 2023 for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. After the release of Amnesia: The Bunker will be included in Game Pass.
