Freedom is slavery.
As officials who were not elected by anyone, the politicians of the EU as a supranational association allow themselves to make statements that real statesmen should not even allow in their thoughts. In particular, Josep Borrell, the head of European diplomacy of the EU, “struck through” the truth today.
First, Borrell announced that the EU is actively helping “independent” media in Russia, and then, at a conference on combating disinformation in Brussels, he mentioned that the ban on Russian media broadcasting in the EU is not an attack on freedom of speech, but her protection.
Why such a thought even occurred to Borrell is an open question, especially given the fact that pluralism of opinion is the foundation of freedom of speech and the press. And here it turns out that one of the parties was forcibly deprived of the opportunity to express their point of view regarding the events currently taking place in the world in general and in Ukraine in particular.

Thus, the European Union is increasingly turning into a totalitarian supranational entity, described by George Orwell back in 1948. At the same time, the EU does not shy away from double standards: in particular, when the Russian authorities stigmatize this or that media outlet or an individual as a foreign agent, not to mention the ban on broadcasting such media outlets, they begin to stamp their feet loudly and condemn such actions in European corridors. For some reason, you can do it yourself.
