The big robberies return with extremely dramatic twists that, in turn, were part of a larger plan. After the Korean version of The Money HeistNetflix dates the prequel of the television phenomenon: berlin will take the reins of his own series starting next December. Of course, on this occasion they will not put the Government of Spain in check: we will witness a new hit in the city of love.
The essential: without going into spoilers with respect to the five parts already released, Berlin works both as a prequel and as a spin-off of The Money Heist, focusing on the figure of Andrés de Fonollosato whom will he give again life Pedro Alonso. Of course, on this occasion he has surrounded himself with a totally new team of specialists and to the extent of a robbery in which there is at stake no less than 44 million euros in jewels.
Alonso will be in very good company, in fact, since the cast of the series has the talent of Michelle Jenner, who lends her voice to Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn (who will also have her series on Netflix); as well as Tristan Ulloa, Julio Pena Fernandez o Joel Sanchez among many other talents that will give more background to this new stage in the Spanish series that has reached an international level. In fact, together with the trailer they have offered the first images.
What we know about Berlin, the television series
The project was announced in November 2021, serving as a kind of point and followed in front of the end of The Money Heistand in the creative part we have both Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato.
We know that filming began last year in both Paris and Madrid and that the premise of the series itself could not be more interesting: introducing us to a new team created around the character of Berlin, who is in a very different emotional state than seen so far.
Will the Professor appear? If we have learned anything from The Money Heist is that, like the wizards of The Lord of the Rings, the good Sergio Marquina neither arrives early nor late, but when he proposes it.
In any case, in addition to the interesting premises, it will be very interesting if the eight episodes that will begin airing this year are self-concluding or lead to new seasons at the beginning of the original series. As can be seen in the Netflix file (you can already add it to your watch list), the first eight episodes of Berlin will be broadcast on Friday, December 1, 2023. From there, anything can pass the screen.
