To celebrate the success of Dead Spacesome EA Motive developers participated in an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on Reddit answering some questions about the development of the project and beyond.
Senior Producer Philippe Ducharme revealed that development of the game was completed in just under two and a half yearsthe team met in September 2020 to start work on Dead Space and soon after many members arrived before working on Star Wars Squadrons, whose development ended just in September of the same year.
Work on Dead Space therefore began just over two years ago, in this period of time the team worked on various aspects related to the technical sector and gameplay, for example, initially it was thought to add an option for spin Isaac 180 degrees but later this idea was discarded, EA Motive’s goal has always been to preserve the charm and atmosphere of Dead Space, while renewing some aspects of the production, no longer fresh after more than 14 years from its launch.
Dead Space’s father thanked EA Motive for the care taken in this reissue, which led to Dead Space being discovered and appreciated by a new type of audience.
