Bandai Namco submitted a report for the first nine months of the financial year – the period from April 1 to December 31, 2022.
The overall figures are positive, with sales revenue of more than 743 million yen (about $5.62 million), an increase of 18.3% over the same period last year). Operating profit exceeded 106 million yen (up 15.2%). If we talk about the forecast for the full year, then we are talking about revenue of 940 million yen (about 7.11 million dollars) and operating income of 128 million yen.
The digital entertainment division (which includes games) accounted for more than 288 million yen ($2.18 million), up 19.1% from last year. Operating income was above 46 million yen (up 23.9%).
Sales Elder Ring continue to be at a good level, although the release of the game took place in the last financial year. The releases of the third quarter of the financial year also showed themselves successfully – the same applies to mobile projects related to franchises. Dragon Ball and One Piece.
Consoles and PC brought in 125.4 million yen, while mobile and browser projects brought in 140.7 million yen. The forecast for the year assumes results of 157 million yen and 189 million yen, respectively. Last year, console and PC totaled 174.4 million yen, helped by the release of Elden Ring.
In nine months, Bandai Namco shipped almost 39 million copies of games, about 16 of which were in Europe, more than 14 million went to America, and 8 million to Japan.
