This Tuesday, February 7, took place the Cloud 11 conference, during which OnePlus officially presented the OnePlus 11, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 as well as the OnePlus Pad, its very first touchscreen tablet. Next to that, we were treated to a mechanical keyboard: the OnePlus Featuring 81 Pro.
A mechanical keyboard that is customizable
The brand’s argument for promoting this new product is that it was “co-created with the OnePlus online community” based on their feedback. The manufacturer specializing in Keychron keyboards is also in the game, in particular on connectivity so that the Featuring 81 Pro is compatible with macOS, Windows, Linux and other operating systems. On the back of the keyboard, there is a USB-C port, a switch to switch from Windows mode to macOS mode and another to switch from wireless mode (Bluetooth) to wired mode.

The keyboard is equipped with so-called “Marble-mallow” keys, “which use a patented thermoplastic elastomer to produce an elastic rebound with each press and provide users with optimal comfort and functionality. A priori, at least two versions would be available, with keys at different gray levels. A keyboard designed for office more than for gaming apparently.

On the features, there are the function keys, but also scroll keys and to return to a home (key represented by a house), as well as a transparent wheel, which could be used to scroll a page or modify the volume .

On the design side, we are entitled to an aluminum body to have a light and robust product. OnePlus’ “Never Settle” motto is present on the underside of the body, which isn’t all that absurd. In fact, you can simply raise the keyboard and hold it on the upper edge thanks to a bar that rises. On top of that, the “Esc” key is actually the brand logo.

For the moment, we have very little information about the OnePlus Featuring 81 Pro, but “its availability and price will be available in the coming weeks,” said the brand.
