, Bandung – Entering the third season, Overwatch 2 has a series of exciting new content and events. Starting from a new map, skins themed on Asian mythology, a new way to get credit, Valentine’s event, and a first collaboration. Surprisingly, the game made by Blizzard collaborated with One-Punch Man.
The third season of Overwatch 2 has started since February 7, 2023. According to the official website, here are the details about the new season.
New Map Controls in Overwatch 2: Antarctic Peninsula
Overwatch 2 finally got a new map for Control mode. Actually, players have been presented with Antarctica through Ecopoint: Antartica, as seen in May’s cinematic video titled “Rise and Shine”. The development team ensures that the Antarctic Peninsula map is rich in its own lore.
The snow-themed map has a variety of unique views and locations, including an icebreaker ship and a giant driller. Players can implement strategies by taking the highland path or taking the flank path to ambush the enemy.
Valentine’s Day Special Event
Welcoming Valentine’s Day, Overwatch 2 presents two special events. Namely a 4v4 limited time mode and a special Loverwatch dating sim. Both will be starring Hanzo. There are also various Support-themed challenges where players can get two Epic skins.
Hanzo plays Cupid in the dating sim Loverwatch
Loverwatch is the first time Overwatch 2 has ventured into text-based dating sims that can be played in a browser outside of the game. Players can choose the path between Mercy and Genji with the help of Hanzo as Cupid. If you can reach the secret ending, the player is entitled to a Highlight Intro.
Loverwatch will be available on February 13th, while the 4v4 Hanzo mode will arrive in the game the following day. Both will end on February 28.
Asian Mythology Theme and Mythic Kiriko Skin
Skin Amaterasu Kiriko
This season takes the theme of Asian mythology. Overwatch 2 takes inspiration from various mythological cultures and Asian legends to create several unique skins. First, the Mythic Amaterasu Kiriko skin will be present as a reward on the Battle Pass premium track. The skin for Kiriko takes inspiration from various Japanese mythologies, especially kitsune. Plus, the skin can be customized.
