On Sunday, February 5, the final of the WTA 250 series tournament took place in Lyon (France) between Caroline Garcia (WTA 4, France) and Alichen Parks (USA, WTA 79). The fight ended in two sets with a score of 7:6 (9:7), 7:5 in favor of the American.
By winning this final, Parks won the first WTA-level trophy of her career.
Soon, some Twitter users remembered the moment 3 years ago. Then Alisha played against Katherine Sebow at the ITF 60,000 in Las Vegas.
The match ended in Seb’s favor, and the handshake after the game almost turned into a fight. According to another participant in the tournament, Sachia Vickery, Sebov shook hands with Parks too hard, after which the American wanted to sort things out with her rival, but the judge intervened in time. Also on the court effectively ran a representative of the team Alisha Parks, who began to appeal to the public.
Interestingly, Katherine Sebov was born in Toronto, but has Ukrainian roots.
