Aroged, Bandung – After being reported to be leaving the annual release tradition, Activision apparently stated that they still have plans for Call of Duty. They admit through their financial reports that a full annual premium release for their famous FPS franchise is planned for release this year.
Call of Duty Not to Leave the Annual Release?
Previously, the Call of Duty 2023 game was reported to be delayed until 2024. One source who reported this news was IGN. At the time, Vanguard’s disappointing sales figures were believed to have been the trigger for the decision. If this report is true, this is the first time the iconic FPS franchise has left an annual release.
There are also reports that Modern Warfare II will have two years of support. This report makes loyal fans increasingly believe that Activision is ready to leave the annual release for its famous FPS franchise.
Modern Warfare II is the best-selling game in the history of the Call of Duty franchise
Recently, Activision Blizzard released its fourth quarter 2022 financial report to the public. It said Modern Warfare II had succeeded in becoming the best-selling game throughout the franchise. They said they would continue the momentum by relying on Call of Duty and Diablo.

Even more surprising, Activision said that it was developing a full annual premium release for CoD which would be available this year.
“On the Call of Duty franchise, our team is cementing its fourth quarter success, with plans for 2023 including more enjoyable live services across every platform and the next full annual premium release of the blockbuster series,” wrote Activision.
Modern Warfare II Expansion or New Game?
As soon as Activision’s announcement was made public, there were two possibilities regarding the full annual premium release. The two possibilities are the Modern Warfare II expansion and a new game.
Let me make this super clear:
– The next game, by Treyarch, is coming out in 2024
– Next year there will be a Modern Warfare II “premium” (paid) expansion by Sledgehammer
– It’s supposed to have lots of content! Maybe that’s why they call it a “full” release. But it’s more MWII https://t.co/jXKAiMFcTf— Jason Schreier (@jasonschreier) November 7, 2022
This news was delivered by Jason Schreier of Bloomberg last November. Through his Twitter, Schreier said that the next CoD game made by Treyarch will be released in 2024. In 2023, the expansion for Modern Warfare II will actually be filled. He denied the CharlieIntel account report which said there would be a new CoD game in 2023.
This is not a Treyarch game.

CharlieIntel himself recently gave an opinion that the premium release of Activision’s FPS franchise will be released in the fall of 2023. They added that the game was not developed by Treyarch.
So far, it is not known what the next full annual premium release of Call of Duty will be in 2023. Activision only rebutted the previous report by saying that several new CoD “experiences” were in development, one of which was a full premium release for this year.
