To this day, the “Apex Legends” community has been waiting in vain for the cross-progression support that was announced quite a while ago. According to Respawn Entertainment, this is still in the works, but the studio still cannot give a specific date for the release of the feature.
A while ago, the developers at Respawn Entertainment pointed out that the studio was working on cross-progression support for their in-house battle royale shooter Apex Legends.
With the support of this feature, players will be able to access their progress and purchased content across all platforms where they play Apex Legends. After the community had been put off again and again in the past, the question of when cross-progression support should finally come came up again shortly before the start of the 16th season.
As game director Steve Ferreira confirmed when asked, cross-progression is still a work in progress. However, the developers at Respawn Entertainment are still unable to name a specific release date.
Gamer-Director speaks of a complicated development
According to the game director responsible for “Apex Legends”, the studio is faced with various technical challenges when working on cross-progression, which repeatedly delays the realization and publication of the feature. Therefore, Ferreira asks the players for a little patience. If Respawn Entertainment is able to talk about a possible release date, the studio will reach out to the community again.
“We are definitely looking forward to the upcoming cross-progression. It was trickier than expected and we want to make sure it’s complete,” the Apex Legends game director said. Especially since the release of the 16th season is pending, to which you here find all important details.
