Despite the fact that the city-building simulator Cities: Skylines, when it was released on the last generation consoles, there were many complaints about the controls (which is not surprising, such games are much more convenient to play with the mouse), the developers from the Colossal Order studio, together with Paradox Interactive has officially announced the release of the remaster for current generation consoles.
Moreover, you won’t have to wait long for the release of the updated version of Cities: Skylines on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series: the release is scheduled for next week, on February 15th.
The remaster, as befits games with such a console, will not be a completely redesigned version of the game and will be limited for the most part to cosmetic improvements, however, at the same time, the authors assure that they paid special attention to ease of control, so that it would also be comfortable to play on gamepads.
Among the key features of the Cities: Skylines remaster are improved graphics and performance, improved UX, more tiles, the presence of a quick selection tool, an updated environment control panel with settings for time of day, weather, and so on. It is possible to freely arrange buildings. There will also be a map editor.
For owners of Cities: Skylines on PS4 and Xbox One, the remake will be free.
