In the course of a recent press release, Paradox Interactive and the developers of Colossal Order announced that the construction strategy “Cities Skylines” will be published in a revised version for the current generation of consoles.
In the technically polished remastered version, console strategists on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S will be able to use 16 additional buildable tiles for the first time and thus create even larger cities. In addition, there is the possibility of placing buildings completely freely.
Other improvements waiting for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S include improvements to the user interface such as precision placement, distance indicators or updated snap options. Also included is a new environment control panel to adjust the time of day, rain, fog, and environment colors, as well as a comprehensive map editor.
Build the city of your dreams
The basic tasks of “Cities Skylines” have not changed in the course of the current-gen port. You’ll still be given a variety of tools to help you create the city of your dreams, including street networks, bus routes, and parks. For example, while you provide your city with renewable energies, your citizens demand education, security and a functioning healthcare system.
“As the mayor, players are faced with balancing basic needs such as education, water, electricity, police, fire department, health care system and more while building their own city’s economic system. City dwellers are quick to respond, keeping players on their toes with ever-evolving requirements.
Also coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S is the massive Afterdark expansion, which allows you to add nightlife to your city, allowing your residents to chill out after work relax.
